A lovely little based-on-a-true-story film. Probably a DVD film more than anything, but still worth a watch.
Singapore backdrops as a beautiful contrast to the horrors shown (and hinted at), with just the right level of violence shown to stop this film becoming too graphic. Colin Firth delivers another brilliant portrayal - and proves that things only get better with age.
3/5 stars - Worth reading the book too, if you can get your hands on it.
