Planett allows you to explore two different locations a day (randomly picked by the app for you), through a feed of images and comments submitted by users living in that location. Content is generated through 'photo missions' sent to each user (things like 'Take a photo of a local landmark', 'What are you looking at right now', 'Something you love to eat'), which means you get a really thorough overview of each area. The ability to comment on photos also means you can start to interact with people across the world - I've already started to follow a couple of the people I've met on Twitter.
So far I've explored Shizuoka in Japan (check out that amazing photo from Mari above), and Incheon in Korea. The app is still in it's very early stages, and is pretty buggy, but I'd still totally recommend downloading it. They've also set up a Twitter, so show them a bit of love here.
